Mein
Fotoprojekt "Harz Railway" ist eine Sammlung von Bildern über die
Harzer Schmalspurbahn. Sie sind in einem Zeitraum von 2016 bis 2017
entstanden und zeichnen den Weg einer dampfbetriebenen Schmalspurbahn
vom Startpunkt zum Brocken und zurück nach. Dabei lehnt sich diese
Art der Fotografie an das sehr beliebte Genre
„Reisefotografie“ oder „Reisedokumentation“ an.
Die Fotos gehören zu den ersten Versuchen in einer Orientierung in
Richtung „Projektfotografie“.
Der Einstieg in mein intensiveres Verständnis für die
Fotografie lag zu diesem Zeitpunkt gerade einmal zwei bis drei Jahre
zurück! Sie verdeutlichen, was man mit einer gewissen
Unbeschwertheit schon in seinen Anfängen bewegen kann, ohne dass
ein perfektes Foto das Ziel aller Träume gewesen ist.
Der
Harz, bis ins Mittelalter Hart (‚Bergwald‘) genannt, ist
ein Mittelgebirge in Deutschland und das höchste Gebirge
Norddeutschlands. Er liegt am Schnittpunkt von Niedersachsen,
Sachsen-Anhalt und Thüringen. Im
Harz, der von artenreicher Flora und Fauna geprägt ist, gibt es
ausgedehnte Wälder, teils landwirtschaftlich genutzte
Hochflächen, tief eingeschnittene Täler mit wilden
Flussläufen und Wasserfällen sowie Stauteiche und Stauseen.
Vielerorts gibt es Zeugnisse einer langen Siedlungsgeschichte. Zudem
sind Wintersportgebiete vorhanden, und der Harz ist Wandergebiet.
Die
Harzer Schmalspurbahnen GmbH (HSB) mit Sitz in Wernigerode
(Sachsen-Anhalt) ist eine Eisenbahngesellschaft, die ein zirka 140 km
langes Netz von zumeist dampfbetriebenen Schmalspurstrecken im Harz als
Eisenbahninfrastrukturunternehmen und als Eisenbahnverkehrsunternehmen
betreibt. Dabei handelt es sich heute um das größte
zusammenhängende Streckennetz in Europa unter Dampf. Es ist
meterspurig, ganzjährig in Betrieb und besteht aus Harzquer-,
Selketal- sowie Brockenbahn. Auch die Anfangsbuchstaben der Strecken
ergeben den abgekürzten Namen des Unternehmen. |

My
photo project "Harz Railway" is a collection of pictures about the Harz
narrow gauge railroad. They were taken in a period from 2016 to 2017
and trace the path of a steam-powered narrow-gauge railroad from the
